Install worked, cant login at all

When i go to login page at the final step of install/install.aspx and enter the username and password i entered previously as the administrator i get a page refresh loop and locks up my internet explorer over 1gb mem usage in under 1 minute.

i close IE and come back to the site, same thing

i cannot login to the site, it looks like its attempting to redirect to submodal floading.aspx

run the installer again and see if it persists. I haven't heard of this before so maybe it's some sort of configuration issue.

ive ran this installer about 4 times with same results, removing install folder, leaving install folder, deleted database, started over, copied files, left files alone

    all with the same results

    IIS6 / Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 / SQL 2005 Workgroup w/FT / Windows XP workstation / IE7

I'd suggest deleting everything and starting afresh! Get a brand new download of the package and reinstall from scratch! I had a problem with a corrupt download that caused me 2 weeks' of frustration and it was as simple as starting over.

    HTH!

I understand that there are environment issue, but i am not that non-standard to get results not ever seen before.

I think i found the issue, your site needs to be the root domain. For example...

http://server/dcFolder/ serves your homepage. Attempt to login to the admin site and you are at http://server/dcFolder/admin and attempt to login and it should recreate my issue. Why would i have a site this way, i dont know, i was testing the package and dont want it to be at the root.

So there are some relative path coding issues somewhere, but anyway, I updated my server with host headers and its now at the root domain and i can login.
