So I tried to modify and configure the default shipping provider (Simple Weight Shipping Provider). Per the video, I recognize I must save the shipping provider configuration before it is configured. Prior to saving, I clicked on use shipping. Then I went into the Data section, and modified the price for UPS from .42 to 1.00 (cover the cost of the envelope, too). When I try to check out, my shipping options did not include cost.
So I deleted the two existing items, and put in the 1.00 and 5.00 pricing. Saved it again. Again, when I try to close out a transaction, the options show a 0.00 cost. The new item names (Handling/UPS and Priority Mail) are showing up, so I know that my changes have (to some extent) been accepted, but I can't seem to get the software to include the addition of the specified cost.
FOLLOW-UP - I have added a weight of 1 to one of my products, and the shipping amount is now showing up. Problem solved? One would think. However, when the option is clicked and I click on continue (to finish processing the order), I receive the following message: Oops! An error has occurred. This error has been logged. If the problem persists, please contact us! How do I get around this?
Also, I only want one shipping charge per shipping address, not one shipping charge per unit ordered ( I can put multiple products in one envelope). How do I program this thing to charge the shipping on the first item only?
